Being a Student Nurse and a Mum | The PhD Mummy (www.thephdmummy.com)

Studying as a mum is hard. Fact. I’m not going to even try sugar coating it.

But what about when you’re studying for something which also includes working placements which include shift times which are awkward for child care and family life? Many can relate, particularly in the healthcare fields of nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, other allied healthcare professions and medicine.

For this blog post, I was really fortunate the collaborate with four amazing student nurses who are currently studying for their nursing degree (one is combing it with social work!!), attending placement and raising kids (in some case multiple kids!). They all have a unique perspective on the difficulties of this magnanimous task and agreed to share some tips for how they are keeping sane.
